Today the Roman Amphitheatre is peaceful but if you stop and listen intently surely you can hear the cries of Roman soldiers as they undertook their military training.
Or perhaps you hear the roar of the crowd as they were entertained in one of two stone built amphitheatres on this site.
It stands today as a reminder of how important Chester was in Roman times.
